According to the amendment to the Electronic Communications Act, which entered into force on 1 July 2011, all visitors to a website to access information should be informed about that site's use of cookies and what they are used for. Visitors should also be asked to consent to the use of cookies.

Swedish Maritime Administration's website uses cookies to generate visitor statistics. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that can be used to track what visitors do on the site.

Cookies used on www.sjofartsverket.se to gather statistics, ie, to keep track of how many visitors your site has and how many of those who are repeat or first-time users. No personal information, such as email or name, are stored on the visitor.
